Va Beach weekend visit

We had a great visit to Va Beach last weekend for the air show. The weather was lousy for the air show, but that didn't matter. We still had a great time with friends and family.

Brian and my mom. She just celebrated a birthday with us this past Thursday. Happy Birthday, Mom.

You would never guess that this guy is Brian's boss. When they are together, things get a little loud and giddy. I think they were separated at birth.

AJ (8 months) happy to be on Daddy's shoulders.

My Aunt Diane and Uncle Doug drove from Waynesville, NC to stay with Gammie at her new apartment and see the gang. Thanks to Uncle Doug for letting me experiment with all his camera equipment. I took all these pictures with his fancy flash. Can you tell the lighting is so much better for indoor pictures?

Gammie and Aunt Diane. Gammie is feeling great these days which is wonderful.

Charlotte and AJ actually playing together. So sweet.

The munchkins on the couch.

AJ loves beer bottles. If there is one in his sight, he'll do everything in his power to get to it. Don't worry - we supervise him closely.

Do you notice a trend?

Charlotte's question of the month that keeps coming up is, "Why do Memme and Poppy live so far away?" I'd like to know the answer to that question too Charlotte. Hopefully a move to Williamsburg is still in the cards some day. Thanks for a great visit, Mom and Dad.

Welcome back, Memme and Poppy

Just had to post this cute picture of my parents. They just spent a week on a New England cruise. This picture was taken in Saint John, New Brunswick. We got to see them before they left and after their return because they flew out of DC. We're off to Va Beach on Wednesday for the air show this weekend.

Monday morning

Monday morning doesn't get much better when you wake up to two happy kids. AJ now has two teeth on the bottom. The worst of his teething was the week Dave was at trial and not home the entire week. We survived and he's back to his normal self (both AJ and Dave!). AJ is also now crawling at full speed ahead.

Charlotte wanted to snuggle with AJ in the crib. I can't believe she actually ever slept here.

Happy boy.

Jack's 3rd Birthday

This post is for Megan's sister! I know she follows our blog and I've been meaning to do a "shout out" for some time. Megan is blogging more than me these days (check out the link to "Two Many Monkeys" on the right side of this blog). We went to Jack's birthday party what seems like ages ago and I'm just now getting around to posting pictures. Isn't he a handsome three year old?

Great party, fabulous gluten-free cake, and perfect weather for a morning at the River Farm. I pink puffy paint heart Megan! She's such a good friend and mommy!

The Great Zucchini

A couple of weeks ago, we met up with Erika & Emma in Columbia, MD to see The Great Zucchini at PlayWiseKids. I read this article back in 2006 about him in the Washington Post Magazine. According to TGZ, it was the most read article in the Wash Post mag EVER! They wrote a short follow up article this past weekend about him (read it here). The kids LOVE him and laugh the entire 30 minutes. Charlotte was giggling and engaged the whole time. He does silly tricks like putting dirty underwear on his head and using this spraying toilet that you see in the video. He does 9 birthday parties a weekend and Sasha Obama recently attended one of his shows in DC. His target audience is 2-6 year olds. I can see why the kids love him because he's just a kid himself. Charlotte is the one sitting on the rug with a turqoise bow.
