Maternity Pop-up Session with Rashmi

Rashmi had a little maternity pop-up session this evening at Lake Accotink. It was a beautiful setting for pictures and the perfect weather. I got to soak up some of Rashmi's pro photography skills and shoot along with her. It was so much fun! This is my good friend, Megan, at 37 weeks or so. She's due is just two and a half weeks. She looks AMAZING! We can't wait to meet her little one. I'll have more time to look at these, Megan, when I get back from the beach!

Here are Rashmi's top picks from the session:

Thanks, Rashmi! Too bad my belly isn't bigger, but I'm only 23 weeks. I was trying to push it out as much as possible.

Uncle Don

Uncle Don and his wife, Devon, came to visit us for one night over Memorial Day weekend. They were on the east coast visiting my parents and Gammie so we were happy they drove up to DC for a day. They live in California (Newport Beach to be exact - aren't we all jealous?!) so we don't get to see them often. Uncle Don hadn't seen Charlotte since she was 9 months old and they had never met AJ. Both kids loved hanging out with Don and Devon. My Uncle Don is just a big kid himself. It was so great to see you guys! Come visit again soon.

Great Country Farms - Strawberry Picking

Last Thursday, on one of the HOTTEST days of summer so far, we headed out west to Great Country Farms. We had it on the calendar long before we knew the weather report. We were sweaty and sticky, but it didn't keep us from having fun. The kids weren't too bothered by the heat. The three pregnant moms toughed it out - especially Megan who is 8 months along. We only lasted about 20 minutes out in the fields.

Charlotte and Revie took their picking very seriously. Charlotte wouldn't even stop to give me a quick smile. She did a pretty good job of filling up her bucket despite how many strawberries she ate along the way. The picking wasn't great since it was the last week of the season. This farm also had a TON of thistles because they don't use pesticides. Charlotte was glad she had pants.

AJ was a trooper about the thistles for the most part. He was much happier once he realized he could "taste" along the way. He would just take the strawberries I picked out of my box and put them in his bucket to eat! His bucket was empty by the time we returned to weigh it.

Our crew of four mamas (I'm taking the picture, duh) plus 9 kids and 3 babies on the way! AJ is nowhere to be found in this picture. He's off watching a tractor.

The tractor ride out to the fields was a highlight. AJ, once again, did not want to cooperate in a group photo.

Jessica (with Kellen on her back) and Ginny.

Such a cute boy, don't you think? Both kids were great about wearing their hats which definitely protected them well from the sun. We'd love to visit this farm again in temps less than 98!
