Ode to the Moby Wrap

I got a Moby Wrap when AJ was about a month old. I'm so glad that I did. I don't know what I would do without it. I use it EVERY single day to carry AJ at some point. Most of the time he is facing me and just falls asleep. Now that he has better head control, I've started facing him out. The moby wrap is so much easier on my back and shoulders than the sling. I still use the sling when I need to quickly pop him in something. The moby is a little cumbersome to tie and hot in the warm weather, but I still love it.

Look at those chubby cheeks! Is there anything sweeter?
I can't believe how big he looks in this picture?! Would you guess that he is 3 months old?

Even Charlotte gets to go for a ride in the moby if she asks really nice!

Norfolk Botanical Gardens

We visited the botanical gardens one morning to check out all the spring blooms. A train ride tour was in order first. Charlotte LOVED it! AJ fell asleep, of course.

Stopping to smell the roses.

Charlotte, Memme, and Gammie.

The roses were amazing!

Charlotte just wanted to push the stroller.

Visit to Va Beach

AJ meets his Gammie for the first time. As of two weeks ago, Gammie is now a resident of Virginia. We're so happy to have her here. She's happy that she gets to see her grandchildren and great grandchildren more often.

Gammie walking with Charlotte to the park.
We had such a great visit to Va Beach. The weather was gorgeous the entire time we were there. Charlotte got to play at the park almost every day.

I love this picture because it shows Charlotte running to the playground. Poppy was put in charge of baby stroller duty. He's such a good sport.

Our Father

Charlotte has been practicing saying the "Our Father" prayer before bed. She wanted me to catch it on video tonight. Sorry for the poor lighting but she is in bed. The bandaid on her forehead is to keep her from scratching a scab that won't heal.

No more diapers for Charlotte!

On Friday, we took the plunge and decided it was time for Charlotte to be diaper free.  It's all gone surprisingly smooth. I got rid of all diapers and we're not looking back. So far, only a few accidents. She had two accidents on Saturday morning during our community yard sale since we were all distracted. She's had one nap accident but that's it. She's been dry all night for three nights in a row. I think she was just ready and I was finally ready too. I didn't want to potty train her until after AJ was at least a couple months old. Dave went out on Saturday to buy her more underwear (Tinkerbell designs, of course). The three pairs I had lasted us about 5 minutes! I hope you get a good laugh from my pathetic attempt at a chart. Don't you love my drawings? I get a kick from it every time I see it.  So that's that. We're off to Virginia Beach tomorrow until Saturday. It's AJ's first roadtrip to VB. Can't wait!

3 months old

AJ is laughing at his big sister. I think this is the best part about having another baby. I love watching AJ and Charlotte interact and I know it will only get better. AJ was three months yesterday. I took him to get professional shots done and will post them soon. He currently weighs about 19lbs!!! He gets bigger and stronger everyday - and so does my back!

12 weeks old

My friend Courtney gave us this onesie since AJ is an Aquarius. She originally bought it for her daugther, Tessa, but she arrived three weeks early! Thanks for the cute onesie, Courtney. It says, "I'm a thinker and a do-gooder, I will be a trailblazer, love the spotlight, wise, determined, unique." All great attributes!

This just shows that Charlotte always wants to be in the action. I was trying to take pictures of AJ in his onesie and she climbed up next to him. She's popping the bubbles coming out of his mouth!

Tricycle time!

Charlotte has finally taken to the tricycle and pedals up and down the sidewalk. She gets better every day. We're enjoying the spring weather!

Mother's Day 2009

I hope all the moms in my life had a wonderful Mother's Day last weekend. We spent time at home with family - there's nothing better. I thank God every day for making me the mother of these two sweet babies.

This morning

The first words I heard this morning were, "Mommy, I need a wipe because I have poop on my fingers!" What a way to start the day. I moved so fast I didn't even need coffee this morning.

AJ at 10 weeks

Yes, I've already posted an 11 week picture and this is at 10 weeks. I'm just getting around to uploading pictures from another card. Also, typing with left hand while nursing this chubby fellow.

11 weeks

Everything is just dandy here. The spring rain has been keeping us indoors which forced us to clean out closets yesterday. We've started a good size pile for the upcoming community yard sale. This is AJ and Charlotte this morning in their jammies. Charlotte has blue marker all over her mouth because she tried to taste it while making Poppy's birthday card. Happy Birthday, Dad! Your card will be a little late but it's made with lots of love!
