Photos by Eeks

My talented best friend, Erika, was here visiting from San Diego a couple weeks ago and took these quick shots of Charlotte. I think she has a photography business in her future and I'd hire her any day. You can see more of her work at Two Popsicles. We can't wait until they move back to the east coast late this summer!

2 month check-up for AJ

We survived the 2 month check-up for AJ although he wasn't happy about the two shots. Poor little guy. He weighs 16lbs 8oz (off the charts) and is 24 1/4" (95%). The doctor isn't concerned about his weight since it's proportional to his height. We saw our favorite ped, Dr. Pfeffer. I didn't think we would ever get to see him again because he took a break from seeing all children under 8 years because he has horrible back problems. We're glad he's back!

He had lots of questions for Charlotte like, "Do you take good care of your baby brother?" and "What's your favorite thing to eat?". I never know how she is going to answer questions. Here's a few examples from yesterday:

Dr: "What is your favorite food for breakfast?"
Charlotte: "Eggs and oatmeal."

Dr: "What is your favorite food for dinner?"
Charlotte: "Soup."

Later that evening, we were talking about shots and why AJ was crying. Charlotte said that she got shots one time but they didn't hurt because she has "pretty thighs"! We just had to laugh.

Easter

I think I'm the last of my fellow bloggers to post Easter pictures. Yes, we dye eggs topless - only Charlotte, of course!

Charlotte's Easter bunny loot. The Gymboree bubbles and pink crocs were her favorite. She demanded to wear the crocs to church with her Easter dress. I should have known this would happen.

Do you like her coordinating pajamas?! This is what happens when she gets to choose on her own.

While Charlotte was running around finding her eggs (with one Reece's inside), AJ fell asleep in the middle of the floor on his changing pad. He's the easiest baby ever!

Proof that she wore her crocs to church. Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend!

AJ's video debut

If AJ wants any solo video time, I'll have to do it while Charlotte is sleeping :)

8 weeks old!

AJ is 8 weeks old today! As you can see, he is tipping the scale at almost 17lbs! I take him for his 2 month appointment on Monday so I'll post the official weight after that. Our home scale is pretty accurate, though. We zero it with the changing pad and I weighed him after a diaper change. He's such a happy baby and gives us lots of smiles when he is awake and fed! He's also a good sleeper - I've only been getting up once or twice at night to feed him. Amazing! I'm sure this won't last so I'll enjoy it while I can.

Charlotte speak

Sorry for the lack of posting lately. We've been busy with a visit from Memme and Poppy and AJ's baptism last weekend. I'll post pictures soon.

Until then, I'll share two funny things Charlotte has said lately:

1. While Memme was here, we went out to lunch after Gymboree class. On our way to Noodles & Company (love this place!), Charlotte said, "Mommy, we're almost there? I don't have to whine!"
2. Yesterday, I had my 6 week postpartum check-up. Charlotte knew that we were going to see the midwives that morning. During the car ride there, she asked, "Mommy, are you having another baby?" Not anytime soon, sweetheart!

Spring, please!

Charlotte got a new gardening set from my Aunt Diane last week and she's ready to grow some flowers. I'm ready for spring weather too so we can spend more time outdoors.

We've had lots of visitors to meet AJ. Unfortunately, I haven't always taken pictures. Jacob was serenading Charlotte on her new piano!

This is AJ (5 weeks) and Nate (3 months). Nate is Jenna's new baby brother who was born in December. Nate was all smiles but AJ was not happy at the moment. It's tough to find a good moment when both babies are happy and awake.

My friend, Courteney, holding AJ this week. She is due with her second baby girl in August.

AJ was giving her lots of sweet smiles.
