AJ napping on the couch

AJ woke up early from his nap so I brought him downstairs to snuggle. He continued to sleep on the couch for the next two hours. It's a tough life.

Just an afternoon walk in the wagon

Why is there a moving truck at our house?!

Poppy sacrificed a day of his life to painstakingly transport Gammie's dining room set from Va Beach up to our house. He saved Dave a round trip drive in a big Uhaul truck. We're extremely thankful. The kids were pretty excited to see Poppy and the truck. The dining set fits perfectly in our dining room and makes me think of my grandparents every time I see it.

Preschool End of the Year Performance

May 13, 2011 - Charlotte's end of the year performance for the parents at Grace Weekday preschool. Charlotte is in the middle wearing black and pink.

Memme came up just for this event because she had never been to Charlotte's preschool. Charlotte also had Mommy, Daddy, AJ, Nanny and Papa as adoring fans in the audience.

AJ is so proud and excited to spot Charlotte on stage.

All the crazy parents taking pictures and video.

Backyard Dinner Playdate

Dave was out of town this week so we had some friends over for a backyard playdate and grilled for dinner. The weather was sunny and 70s for 4 days straight here. It was awesome! After jumping on the trampoline for a good long time, Charlotte brought out her princess dolls. I thought it was so cute that Jack and Jacob wanted to play with them.

AJ and Garrett enjoy the trampoline while the big kids are busy playing dolls.

Time to eat! Dinner always tastes better outside. Marcy brought non-alcoholic beer for the mommies since we're all pregg-o.

After dinner, we let the kids decorate leftover cake poppers from when Brian and Erin watched Charlotte and AJ while we were in Charlottesville for a night for Dave's law school reunion. The decorating stuff was a big hit, as were the end treat of eating the poppers. I've never made cake poppers before but they're basically balls of cake dough with icing around them on a stick or toothpick. Such fun!

Charlotte and AJ still eating their poppers. All the kids went to bed easily that night!

Trampoline is here!

Our new trampoline arrived on Monday and these are pictures from the first time jumping on it. The kids LOVE it - and so do the adults! Even Memme and Poppy went for a bounce while they were visiting this week. AJ wakes up in the morning asking to go out on the trampoline. We had a couple playdates this week and all our friends had a good time on it too. I think we'll be enjoying it for many years. The last picture is the view from my kitchen sink. I love that I can see the trampoline and swingset easily. We love our backyard!

Easter

Whew! Lent is over and the Easter season is upon us. I hope you all had a prayerful Lent and blessed Easter. We visited Memme and Poppy in Va Beach during spring break and had a great time. The kids were thrilled to sit on the EB's lap. More updates coming soon...
