More Christmas

Poppy arrived on Christmas day in the afternoon from a trip. He was busy making sure other people could be with their families and loved ones for Christmas. Charlotte was so excited to see him! We waited to open most of the presents until he arrived.

Charlotte carrying Mem's new fancy Cole Haan purse while saying "bye bye". Charlotte actually got a purse of her own from Mem and Poppy stuffed with fun things like a real wallet with play credit cards, bracelets, a brush, a calculator (that she thinks is a phone), and a bead necklace.

Charlotte's new baby doll. In this picture, she is actually giving the baby some milk. I couldn't believe that she just took the baby, held it to her chest, and did the sign for "milk". She even let out a little sigh while she was "nursing" the baby. It was precious.

A picture of Charlotte's loot.

Charlotte helping Uncle Brian cook Christmas dinner. She's standing in her new kitchen helper tower that we got from Nanny and Papa. It's by far one of our favorite and much needed gifts! We can't do anything at the countertop level without holding Charlotte up to see so this is perfect. It's become tradition for Brian to cook Christmas dinner. He does a top notch job!

A picture of Christmas dinner. It was one of the best meals I've ever had and it was all prepared by Brian and Dave. The menu included organic beef tenderloin, twice baked organic potatoes, sauteed green beans with toasted almonds, sauteed mushrooms, and morel mushrooms. It was all accompanied by some of the best wine and champagne I've ever tasted - thanks to Brian, of course.

Christmas Part 2

Early Christmas morning (this is at 6am), Charlotte got to play with her unwrapped Santa gifts. They included her arm chair, this Elmo vacuum, and a push popper.

Charlotte loves her new chair! I got it from www.oompa.com in case anyone wants to know.

Charlotte loved being with Mem. In fact, there were many times she preferred Mem over me. While she was here, Dave and I got to go to the movies one day and visit some friends one night. Thanks, Mem and Poppy!

Charlotte opening her airplane from Uncle Don. Uncle Don is a pilot just like Poppy so it was an appropriate gift. She loves to make the airplane sign and say "vroom, vroom".

Christmas Part 1

Christmas started last weekend for part 1 at Nanny and Papa's house with all of Dave's family. Austin (above) adores Charlotte and entertained her most of the weekend while we visited. The festivities started on Saturday afternoon and ended Sunday evening after the last present was unwrapped.

Charlotte wasn't too happy about Santa at first. Everyone gets something out of his big red bag including the adults. Charlotte got some new food for her kitchen! She did sign "thank you" when she got her gift but wouldn't let go of me. By the end, she was giving him high fives.

The sea of presents - it's hard to keep up with who got what these days with 11 adults and 6 kids.

Charlotte had so much fun opening all her gifts.

I got crafty this year and knitted hats for all the boys. I think they all liked them. I started in October and didn't finish until the week before Christmas. From left to right is Robbie (5), Connor (13), Finley (2), Kellen (2.5), and Austin (11).

Charlotte's new chair from Santa

You might want to turn your volume down for this one because we're all laughing so hard and Josh Groban is playing in the back ground. Charlotte got her very own arm chair for Christmas and she LOVES it. She sat in it to open all her presents and read books. I'm so happy about it. Wait for the funny moment at the very end of this video. I wish I had kept recording but I had to stop - you'll understand why. I'll post a follow up video and more pictures from Christmas soon. Don't worry, no one got hurt.

Christmas Card from 2006

Just for comparison sake, here is our Christmas photo from last year! I can't believe how much my baby has changed in a short year. By the way, we've loved receiving cards and pictures from all our friends and family. In the past couple of days, we've gotten at least 25 cards! I look forward to the mailman's arrival every day.

The Dolphins Win!

Daddy is pretty excited that the Dolphins finally won their FIRST game of the season. It's been a horrible season for the Dolphins. Good thing we didn't splurge on NFL ticket.

After all the excitement, Charlotte just needs a hug from her mommy. I love these moments!

A Night Out

Dave and I get a night out to attend my company holiday party. We had a great time but paid for it the next day. Charlotte got up at 4:15am!!! Ouch! Needless to say, we didn't get much done that day except napping.
