Last Thursday, on one of the HOTTEST days of summer so far, we headed out west to Great Country Farms. We had it on the calendar long before we knew the weather report. We were sweaty and sticky, but it didn't keep us from having fun. The kids weren't too bothered by the heat. The three pregnant moms toughed it out - especially Megan who is 8 months along. We only lasted about 20 minutes out in the fields.

Charlotte and Revie took their picking very seriously. Charlotte wouldn't even stop to give me a quick smile. She did a pretty good job of filling up her bucket despite how many strawberries she ate along the way. The picking wasn't great since it was the last week of the season. This farm also had a TON of thistles because they don't use pesticides. Charlotte was glad she had pants.

AJ was a trooper about the thistles for the most part. He was much happier once he realized he could "taste" along the way. He would just take the strawberries I picked out of my box and put them in his bucket to eat! His bucket was empty by the time we returned to weigh it.
