9 month stats and some randoms

Thanksgiving has come and gone and the Christmas season is here! I didn't take many pictures at Thanksgiving. In fact, I haven't been taking many pictures at all lately. I'll have to work on that. Brian is letting Charlotte play with his new Droid phone. He must REALLY love her!

It only took 3 years for Charlotte to get her first "egg" on her head. She ran into the corner of one of our walls. It was fine by the next morning.

AJ had his 9 month check-up last week. I debated whether I would even take him to the germ infested doctor's office when he was perfectly healthy, but I decided to just do it. Nanny watched Charlotte so I only had to focus on one child not touching anything while we were there. I sat in the car until our exam room was ready. It worked out well and we didn't pick up any illnesses. The flu virus wave was bad a month ago but it's been better lately or we're not hearing as much about it, anyway.
Here's the stats:
25lbs 11oz (99%)
30" (94%)
He's still a big guy but definitely leveling out in his weight gain and growth which is good. He dropped to 94% in height - geesh! The big news is that he's allergic to eggs. I've been suspecting eggs because his eczema got really bad after his seasonal flu shot. It's standard to do a blood draw at 9 months to check for anemia so I asked if they could run an antibody test for eggs at the same time. He has a moderate level of antibody build up against egg protein. The good news is that he will likely grow out of it. The bad news is that we will need to continue to keep the incredible edible egg out of his diet.
He's a happy healthy guy so we can't complain.

Thanksgiving Feast

The whole family attended Charlotte's preschool Thanksgiving Feast today. In a rush to get out of the house, I forgot my camera. Jacob's mom and dad saved the day and will give me their pictures later. I took one quick shot when we got home. Charlotte wore a dress that my grandmother made for me when I was a little girl. She was so cute in her hat, pasta necklace, and paper bag vest (not seen in this photo) standing up on stage with her classmates singing Thanksgiving songs. It felt surreal for Dave and I to be watching our first born in her first school performance. We don't feel old enough for that to be possible. Parenthood is bliss!
And how cute is AJ in his birthday suit?! He loves to stand up using the bars at the top of our stairs. This was just before bathtime tonight. He's already starting to lose some of his baby fat. Sniff, sniff.

9 months old!

Untitled from nuggetsmom on Vimeo.

Our little guy (well, let's face it, he's not so little!) is 3/4 of a year old already! His latest trick is to raise his arms when we say "How big is AJ?" One of my favorite baby tricks. I can't wait till he starts clapping. Love you, AJ!

Fountainhead

Sunday was a gorgeous November day in the DC area. It got up over 70 degrees! We decided to check out a park we've never visited - Fountainhead. Fairfax County has so many great parks. You don't even feel like you're just a few miles outside a major metropolitan city. We walked around, watched the boaters, and enjoyed a picnic lunch. Quality family time!

I heart Fall!

Thanks to Kat for sharing the website Picnik on her blog. I created this collage there. Pretty cool website for editing photos. I got some cute shots of the kids today outside. I love this time of year!

Happy Halloween

Halloween was so much fun yesterday! I love it when it falls on a Saturday because Dave gets to spend the entire day with us too. My pictures are all out of order and I'm too tired to rearrange them. Does anyone else get annoyed at how Blogger uploads photos? It drives me nuts. This is Charlotte at the end of a big day examining all her loot from trick or treating. Lollipops were her favorite. We let her go to town and try as much as she wanted. It was fun to watch and we had no problem getting her to bed which was good after all that sugar.

Charlotte and Amelia (our neighbor) went trick or treating together.

AJ and Charlotte after the Halloween parade.

Neighborhood parade crowd. It wasn't big but we all had fun and the rain held out just long enough to let us parade around and eat snacks at the tot lot.

Dave playing the part of a Secret Service agent for the Sarahcuda. The phone cord over his ear made the costume!

The cutest frog you've ever seen (8 months old).

Charlotte and AJ before leaving for the parade.

Family photo before the parade. Charlotte told everyone that she was an "all white fairy." On Friday night, I decided to dress up like Sarah Palin and Dave was a Secret Service agent. We went to a party that morning at a local park. I said "you betcha" all day long. I love Halloween!

Cox Farms - October 1st

Okay, so it's been almost a month since we went to the Cox Farms Fall Festival, but at least it's still October. We picked a beautiful day to go and Charlotte had a blast on all the slides.

From left to right: Jack, Garrett, Jacob and Charlotte

She could have done the slides a million times. There was a constant smile on her face. It made the $9/person entrance fee all worth it!

AJ sacked out in the stroller sporting his pumpkin hat. It's already to small for his big noggin.
Jack, Jacob and Charlotte. Aren't they so sweet?!

Charlotte once again loved the goats this year. This is our third year going to Cox Farms. I'm already looking forward to next year. This is my favorite time of year. Halloween is just three days away!!!
