Visit to Harrisonburg

We visited cousin Finley and Aunt Pam in Harrisonburg last Friday. It was a beautiful drive with all the changing leaves. It was nice to get away from the No.Va. craziness.

There are lots of fun things to do at Finley's house - play with playdough, jump on the trampoline, play on their swingset, and eat homemade pumpkin muffins (I think Charlotte had at least half a dozen!).
We took the kids to the Dayton farmer's market for lunch and some playtime at the toy store.
Back at home, it was getting pretty late in the afternoon so the kids snuggled up on the couch. Charlotte slept for most of the car ride home.

Aunt Pam sent Charlotte the cutest Halloween outfit with matching tights. I think it will definitely fit next year too. Thanks, Pam!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

We just got back from visiting Va Beach for a couple days. It was too short, as usual, but we did squeeze in a visit to a local pumpkin patch (our third for this season!). More pictures soon but wanted to send a BIG happy birthday shout out to my mom. Charlotte woke Memme up this morning by running into her bedroom and saying "Hakky Birky, Memme". Miss you already! xoxo

Pumpkins!!!

We've been doing the fall festival circuit lately. We visited Cox Farms last week and Burke Nursery this week. So many pumpkins and so little time!

It's been a while...

Geesh, it's been a while since I've done any blogging. Charlotte's baby album is finally done (for the most part!). I still have to add a few finishing touches but all the pictures are down and in the book. Now I just have to catch up on our current albums. Ugh! I really don't like working on photo albums but I enjoy the finished product so I just muster through it.
A couple weeks ago, Charlotte emptied ALL of the bins in her toy shelf and lined the boxes up on the floor in a neat row. I had to take a picture. Charlotte got her camera out to take a picture too!

Erika & Mary Kate visit!

My two favorite friends from the west coast were in town this past weekend. I couldn't have been happier to see them. I'm just sad that it went by so quickly. Mary Kate was here for a full week so I got to see her a few times. Erika is in town to celebrate Emma's first birthday which was Saturday. Erika will hopefully be moving back to the DC area next spring!!! Mary Kate is looking for jobs in DC so keep your fingers crossed. I would be the happiest girl alive if they both moved back here. I miss you both already!

Mary Kate stopped by to visit on Friday afternoon. She's holding the new dolly that she got for Charlotte. Charlotte definitely knows who Mary Kate is now and said she wants her to come to Memme's house. It's a pretty big deal for Charlotte to invite someone to Memme's house so I think she definitely likes MK!

Charlotte was in a good mood after her nap and she was showing off to MK. She's doing her favorite party trick here - the sign for "cold".

Happy 1st Birthday, Emma! And congratulations to her Mommy and Daddy for surviving the first year. Emma was so cute when she woke up from her nap. She was giving everyone big smiles and showing us her new walking skills.

Charlotte loved Emma. We were there visiting for a while before Emma woke up. Charlotte could not wait to see her and sing "hakky birky". They were really sweet together.

NAS Oceana Airshow

Sept 20th 2008 - Dave and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary at the NAS Oceana Airshow in Va Beach with my family. We decided to take Charlotte at the last minute but we weren't sure how she would handle the jet noise. This photo was taken after her first fly by. Turns out she loves the thrill of a loud jet engine - just like her Poppy!

Brian and Poppy. Poppy got us all tickets to the special naval aviator association chalet. There was plenty of food, drinks and seats for everyone. The weather was cloudy, windy and cool. Not a great day for the airshow, but fun nonetheless.

Charlotte's favorite attraction was the moonbounce. She would have stayed in there all day if we had let her.

Charlotte eating her chips and watching the airplanes with her favorite naval aviator, Poppy (aka Pistol Pete).
