We all went to Crowell's annual picnic at the National Zoo today. They really go all out with a moonbounce, face painters, a huge spread of food, and snow cones. It was hot and muggy so the snow cones were refreshing. AJ got a taste of the good stuff too. He loved it, of course.
Charlotte got a mermaid painted on her arm.
The big talk at our dinner table tonight was about this HUGE tortoise that we saw at the zoo. That's Charlotte's head in the foreground. Charlotte loved him and was really excited to watch him walk. She also loved the big anaconda snakes. It was pretty fun to go to the zoo and just take our time at the reptile house. Between the picnic and seeing all the reptiles, we didn't have time to see other animals and that was just fine. It was the perfect Sunday family outing.
