I've been signing with Charlotte since she was 8 months old. We took a class and I was determined to make it work. She's FINALLY starting to catch on. Here is a list of her current repertoire:

All gone/all done

Tired
She recognizes many other signs but isn't making them just yet. For example, if I sign drink she grabs her sippy cup. When I sign book, she grabs a book to read. So I know there is something happening in that tiny head of hers. Very exciting!

very cool! is 8 mos about when to start?
You can start anytime after 6 months. That's when they start to understand. I didn't start in earnest until 8 mo. Her new signs this week are horse, eggs and more.
